Course Content

PowerPoint Basics and Design Principles (4 hours):
  1. Introduce participants to PowerPoint and teach basic creation, formatting, and design principles.
  2. Provide an overview of the PowerPoint interface and navigation.
  3. Familiarize participants with fundamental design principles for creating visually appealing presentations.
  • Cover the basics of creating, formatting, organizing, and citing in Microsoft Word.
  • Guide participants through essential Word functionalities such as text formatting, inserting images, and organizing content.
  • Teach participants how to effectively organize documents using headings, lists, and tables, and how to add citations and references.
  1. Cover advanced formatting techniques including styles, templates, and advanced formatting tools.
  2. Demonstrate collaboration features such as tracking changes and co-authoring documents with colleagues.
  3. Provide guidance on finalizing documents, including proofreading, formatting for consistency, and preparing for distribution.
  • Introduce participants to Excel, focusing on data entry, basic formatting, and data management.
  • Cover basic Excel functionalities such as entering data, formatting cells, and managing worksheets.
  • Cover advanced formulas and functions for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Teach logical functions (IF, AND, OR), lookup functions (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH), statistical functions (SUMIF, COUNTIF, AVERAGEIF), and date and time functions.
  • Explore data analysis techniques, pivot tables, and data visualization to extract insights from data.
